Number 2 is my favorite but number one closely follows behind. I like number 3 but

This could well be the best signature ever

The first one, Spyro the Dragon, is my ultimate favorite Spyro game. It's a classic.
And then Spyro 2 and Spyro 3 are my next favorites, I can't decide which one I like more... they're both a tie for me.

the first one is my fave, but i thought the bosses were kinda lame until i got to gnasty, the second one didnt have enough bosses, but i still liked a lot, and the third has a LOT more challenge to it. the next two in the series blow, and i havnt gotten around to the legend of spyro: a new beginning yet.

The first one is my favorite because it's classic.

But after that, the third is my favorite. Sorry, I can't remember the titles... I've played the second one, but I didn't like it that much :P

Yeah you can never beat the first spyro. It was the one I couldn't stop playing. After that Spyro 2 is my 2nd fav and lastly out of all the games Enter the dragonfly. That one really got on my nerves. Insominaic didn't create it and once I had a play, I knew it wasn't going to have the same story and gameplay.

I have a soft spot for the first Spyro game. I have never liked the Hero's Tail PS2 game. It's so different from the Playstation versions.

My favorite 'Spyro' games are the second and third (although I do like the first one)
They are very similar. They are like the same game, but with different levels. The first one is different though. Spyro's movements are different, different fonts, different sound effects and the whole thing has a different feel to it, which I appreciate less than the other two's.
Also, I like less the bosses in the first one, and the levels are more simple in the way that they are just environnements, compared the the levels of the two other games where each level creates a particular world of its own. I'd say the game has evolved in the right way from the first to the second.
More interactions with characters, mini-games and more vivid colours (the first 'Spyro' always seemed bleak to me).
However, as I said, I do like the first one aswell.

EDIT: I had nothing to do recently and decided to play the first one again, after giving a few negative comments on it (or at least negative compared to the other two). And I prefer it a lot more now! I saw that many people say it's their favorite of the series, and couldn't see why. Now I see more.
The first is unique in it's own way. The sequels are different because they have a lot of 'extra things'. I mean by that the mini-games like skateboarding, riding in wagons etc., and all the missions(it's not GTA, but I guess you can call them that way:)) like protecting the ice-skater, helping Hunter and all that. There weren't any things like that in the first one which gave it a more adventuristic (more 'serious')feel, and I think that is what people like about it (besides of the fact that it was the first one)
I mean, if you have to stop during your adventure to play a cat hockey game, it certainly breaks a certain rhythm of the game. Having said that, they are very fun, so there's nothing bad to say here (why would I anyway since I prefer the sequels?), but it still makes a game different.

However I still don't find the bosses great. There are two things I don't like about them:
First, whereas in the sequels we have this whole Epic Boss Battle thing in an area with lava around it, in the first one you just had to follow, later chase the boss and attack him when you get near.
Secondly, the battles were set in 'normal' levels. The boss was just there somewhere in that level, and wasn't in the center of attention, or at least not to me.
They dind't feel like battles, although I did enjoy playing the levels, so that's good after all.

Here, I'm happy that I finished the game again and that I prefer it more now, 1 is different from 2 and 3 but they are all great in their own way, I think that was enough talking and won't talk about Spyro again for a while :).

I liked the second game the best. The main characters outside of the dragons were such a fun addition to the game(i'm not saying I didn't like the dragons). It's thanks to them that I got to explore a colorful and adventurous world in Avalar.

Spyro The Dragon

The original is legendary. I recon it had the best music out of the Spyro games. Closely followed by 2 and 3. Dont bother with the ones on the PS2, it was the same situation with Crash Bandicoot.

May out beloved Bandicoot and Dragon rest in peace on the PS2 and live forever on the PS1.
