*SPOILER QUESTION*

Watched this film for the 2nd time tonight..

Still not sure of one thing - wondered what other viewers opinions were?

Do you think Amy and Ray *did* go to Australia together? After the first time I watched it, I was sure they did, as Amy says goodbye "forever" to daughter June - and Ray has that smile on his face.

On 2nd viewing am not so sure..

It's not terribly important, as an excellent film, and what a great cast! All acting superbly. I think of this as David Hemming's last film really too.

I just watched this for the first time last night and I got the feeling that they did go to Australia. Or I guess I hope that they did.

G.O.B.: Oh, sure, first you dump all over it, now you want to know how it’s done.

I thought they did too.

I think they did too... and it's fitting that they should have some happiness after all the heartache they went through. They were my favorite charectors...

Yeah, I think it was hinted at clearly enough to assume that they did go together. Ray had been in love with Amy from the start while she had grown to love him as well as (or more than?) Jack later on. neither could pursue it properly because of circumstance but Jack's death meant that they could then be together.

A perfect way to end a great film.
