So Creepy
I didnt know what to expect when I rented this, but it is seriously creepy as hell. Pedophilia does not make for a good romance story. Eek.
The music didnt help either.
First of all, I agree with you that the movie is creepy. I don't think it was intended as a romance, though. In fact, I thought it was just the opposite, more like a story about a relationship that is doomed to begin with not because of the characters' ages but rather because one will grow up & the other one never will.
Eban is clearly attracted to younger guys, but that doesn't make him a pedophile in the strictest sense. Pedophilia is to do with an attraction to prepubescent children, not teens. I know it may be hard for you to grasp but just bc someone is underage, it doesn't make the older person a pedophile. If that were the case, then every straight man over 18 who got turned on watching American Beauty would be a pedophile, wouldn't he?
