Why is this still on?

I have seen several episodes of this, and no offence to ANY fans of a TV series that had 15 episodes and ended 7 years ago, but I don't think it's so great. However, it seems to have a regular schedule on weekdays at 6 or so on Showcase Action. The question is - why would ANYONE want to play an old TV show that doesn't seem to have any fans?

I'm a fan. If you don't mind: where do you life? It's not on anymore where I am. In fact, it was never aired again here after it was canceled.

Both you and another user who posted before me, have not seen all the 22 episodes of the series - and possibly did not see them uncut, either. I do not know.

Anyway, if you were not prejudiced against an action heroine, you'd like this girl, trying to live faithfully to the principles her father had taught her; and her maid, a sexy girl in her mid-thirtees; the lovely natural settings; the brawls, and the sword fights; the real bad, ugly, and brute thugs that we aimed to see beaten in the end; and the always resourceful, and cynic army officer that wanted so much to arrest «the queen of spades», as to have the beautiful girl in his bed, when she was playing the part of a lady.

You have seen a large number of action series, westerns or other genres, incredibly worse than this. Lack of money, and additional legal trouble by a ridiculous claim of copyright breach of the Zorro character, plus some censorship due to violence and a little of daring scenes, brought the series down.

I can live with it - because I got the first complete series DVD on the market!

Like Artemis-9 years ago, I am just thankful to have the DVD. I love the show! I watch the episodes one by one on Saturdays, and up next this coming Saturday it's "Counterfeit Queen" unless there is a power blackout. I've got the French "Tessa" set and the episodes aren't in the proper sequence, and the title and credits appear in French, but, having searched for years, I can live with that. And she's a real fox when she wears that mask!

I think it's been repeated quite often in Europe, as well (in Italy and in France) at least. I would definitely disagree that the show has no fans: granted, it's not a classic series, but it appears to be a little cult favourite already.

I have since seen all the episodes on DVD as well after all these years, I will always think highly of it.

I finally saw the show in its entirety this summer: I had always missed the pilot and the last 4 episodes (in imdb order). There were a couple more I wasn't too sure about.

I'm very fond of the show too: if you regard it as an incarnation of "Zorro", it would be my favourite one next to the classic Guy Williams version. Loved the new sexy angle and slightly mystical angles it brought to it, and the character dynamics were reinvented in a very interesting way. They had a nice round of varied and entertaining stories over the course of the season; pity we didn't get a second.

Got cancelled for silly reasons.

Oh well, as long as one's got the DVD. Something to hang on to.

reply

apparently people ignore it when you say I mean no offence lol

Here's the reason.

cable channels try to narrow the content by getting too specific.

so now they have a channel in Canada called 'action'

in Canada we have rules on the percentage of stuff we air being Canadian

despite looking like California and Mexico, Queen of swords is Canadian

so like all our crazily narrow labeled channels they fill up with older cheaper to purchase canadian made shows.

I can name a billion of these types of shows.

it really depends on where you live. i live in california and here, when a show goes off the air that only aired for a season, they show repeats until the end of the season and then the show is gone forever. but if you live in canada or soe place like that form my understanding they will so returns of cancelled shows for years and years.
