Manic: The TV Series?

Did you know that a few years ago, there was supposed to be a TV series based on the movie? If you go to manicasylum.com/index2.html, click on "Outside World" in the top corner, click on "Cast/Crew", and then click on "Jordan Melamed", there's an interesting note in his biography.

"Showtime has purchased the rights to create a television series based on the film [Manic]. Melamed and Michael Bacall are currently co-writing the script for the pilot episode which they expect to shoot in the summer of 2003 with Davis Entertainment producing."

Unfortunately, I doubt it wil ever get made now, since the actors are too old to play teenagers now and the website is REALLY out of date (it still says the trailer for the movie is "coming soon").

Still, it's interesting to think about what it would have been like. It would have been interesting to see the kids' life outside the institution, and the series probably would have showed some of that. It would have probably added some new characters, since most of the movie characters would be gone. (Sara went back home, Kenny and Chad were put in different wards, Mike probably was probably put in a different ward after getting beat up.)

So, does anyone have any information on what the series would have been like? And if you dont, what do youl think it would have been like?

That would have definitely been interesting to see. I personally would have loved to have seen if the characters interacted with each other on the outside (i.e. Lyle and Tracy dating).

What if I remembered the tartar sauce. Would things be different?
