If you haven't read the book, this movie will be awful.

Who else agrees? I noticed various aspects of the film that were introduced the film and never really explained OR resolved. Unless you've read the book.

I don't know. My mom (who hasn't read the book) thought the film was an 8 out of 10. I've read the book (more than once) and I would give it a 6.

to each his own. There is a lot of unresolution in the movie that might work on some people's nerves.

no, i don`t agree. the movie isn`t that bad, UNLESS you`ve read the book. i read the book before i saw the movie, and i was very disappointed in it. if you haven`t read the book, you don`t know how many they left out and how much they changed. it`s just a nice story about a boy and an old man if you haven`t read the book.

The book would hardly help. They changed it quite a bit.

I disagree. I never read the book and always loved this film.

I understand what you mean! Though when I first watched the movie I had not read the book and thought the movie was OK, but I was full of questions and bought the book. Now, after reading the book, I watched it again and I think the movie seems kind of rushed. It could have some more minutes and characters could be better developed as well as their feelings and emotions.
