Does the book explain how Carol died ? Anyone now ?
I have just read the book once, but I'm sure she burned in....I think???

In the book Carol does not die. If I remember correctly she faked her death and changed her name. She said something like "I don't know anybody named Carol. My name is Denise" and then they started talking about how Ted fixed her arm when they were little and stuff.I hope I'm not getting confused, it has been about a year since I read the book.
Oh, right! I didn't read the book that well I just eyed my way through it. I think it's bad

I agree with Otaku, the book is kinda bad. The movie is so much better.
