STOP COMPLAINING

if you dont want foreign films to be listed when you search for the "best" movies of a genre, stop whining and learn how to use the ADVANCED TITLE SEARCH. typical imperialist american attitude...

reply

I don't mind foreign films, I mind movies that are so closely bound to a certain region that they shouldn't be in lists that are supposed to a bit more international. No problem with Turkish movies, I would welcome some Ceylan films in the top 250, since they actually appeal to an international audience.

This problem only seems to exist with Turkish, Russian and Bollywood "comedies".

Now all the votes have been erased. Maybe the IMDb managment thought something was wrong...

Ok, other peoples complaining aside, do you really think this films deserves 10/10? If so, perhaps you give 10/10 too often for a lot of films?

I saw this film and thought, yes its an ok film for foreign and i see a lot of foreign films (I'm Australian), but this doesn't come anywhere close compared to say Bollywood films. Im just wondering whether Turkish people understand the 10/10 rating? It means the best film of all time basically. I have only rated about 8 films in my life with 10/10. Quite a few 9/10, then more and more as the rating lowers.

Please, save 10/10 for your favourite film of all time.

Dear christopherRclarke

I am a regular cinema watcher, inc. hollywood, europe, turkish, russian, indian etc. films.

Yes, due to quality reasons mostly, and due to the marketing power at other times, hollywood movies are the most popular in the world. But the world does not consist of the USA or Hollywood only. They are only 1/20 of the world's population. China has around 5 times more population and India has around 4 times more population than USA, so USA would be a small country as compared to them.

Why not try to respect other peoples of the world? Why try to stereotype the whole world and think that there is only one color while the complete rainbow is there?

I am a Turk and I have watched some episodes of this movie more than 10 times each. For some the three episodes, I have voted 10/10 or 9/10, and for the other following episodes I have voted 2/10. Because they had lost the sense of the first episodes, just like Bourne Legacy being critisized for not being a Bourne movie. (Bourne Legacy was not so bad by the way)

So, it is very normal that a non-Turk will not enjoy Outrageous Class. It does not have an international sense of humor I think. But for us, it is "perfect". I do not suggest the movie to any non-Turk, although some of them may still like it.

When I go to China, I can not even read the alphabet. I do not like their movies, their food or sense of humor. But would this give me the right to critisize a high vote for a Chinese movie on IMDB? Just because I do not like? There are 1.5 billion people there for God's sake. All I need to understand is that they have a different culture, which is no inferior or superior to mine.

And please keep in mind that this movie is 40 years old, that is one of the reasons some people may not like it today. There are many old Hollywood movies rated high but I would not suggest them to anyone today.

And there are many great Turkish movies that I would suggest to any international audience, but Outrageous class is not one of them.
