Wait, THAT is supposed to be Mengele?

I've seen this movie several times, and it's only just now dawning on me that Henry Stram's character is Dr. Josef Mengele. Now, I like this movie a lot, but couldn't they have at least tried to make him look a LITTLE like Mengele? This guy looks absolutely nothing like him. Like, no resemblance whatsoever. They could've at least given him a toupee to wear or something, as Mengele had a full head of thick hair, while this guy is quite bald.

Miklos Nyiszli and Erich Mußfeld looked very different, too.

Harvey Keitel is much too old for his part.

The casting is quite off in this film.

The best thing about this film is the production design:

It's the most accurate representation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau crematoria

ever put on film...

I don't have an issue with the casting itself so much. It's the absolute lack of an attempt to make certain people resemble their real life counterparts. The only reason I know that Mengele was in this, was because I read it on Wikipedia, and went back to check the credits for his name.

I thought I could paint it red, but I couldn't find enough goats.
