Wow, how scary was that Top Sgt. (Scott Glen)?

Man, that guy just exuded evil. I'd rate him right up there with Gny Sgt. Hartman (R. Lee Ermey) in "Full Metal Jacket" or Sgt. Toomey (Christopher Walken) in "Biloxi Blues." The part when he was asking Garcia about his wristwatch was really creepy!

Top was different from the two you mentioned in that he wouldn't hesitate to kill, anyone.

Ermey's character was just a tough Marine. Walken's, if I recall, was a nutjob.

The fact that Ray was dating his daughter and flouting the rules enraged him. He was not a reasonable man. He was scary as hell.

The first time I saw this film in the cinema, in the bit where the nightclub bouncers won't let him in, I honestly expected him to start kicking the sh*t out of the both of them. Scott Glenn is so good in this, the level of toughness he exudes is just short of Clint Eastwood.

Sergeant Lee was one very fearsome piece of nasty work indeed.
