As far as general tone and atmosphere goes ...

... and allowing for technical inaccuracies, and the different time and place, this reminds me more of my own mid-1970s Army days than anything else I have seen on film. It was all pretty disillusioning to the naive young idealist I was then. I found out right away this was not my father's or my grandfather's Army, at all. I say this with no joy.
