Do you still have copies of "Almost Salinas?"

reply

It is available on eBay, as part of a multi-DVD package of "family films"

The package is 'region-free' and if you are willing to pay the shipping cost from Austrailia, I would strongly recommend it.

It would seem that it is also available in Europe, in the PAL format; so if you have a REGION FREE player, go for it.

Its available in Australia. Here's the URL...

It's got the cover and info.

Yes, it's been released in Holland too.

I've bought a used copy yesterday, never heard of the film before, but I saw James Dean on the front of the dvd and so I bought it.

But they gave the wrong description of the movie on my (Dutch) dvd. It says roughly translated

'Until today nobody can really proove that the death of James Dean was really a normal car accident...on the contrary.

This intriguing movie of the story around the death of the legendary James Dean shows that there are many question marks one can put behind the car accident.

The life of several visitors of the town Cholame changes radically when they visit the famous spot of the accident of James Dean. When they ask questions they get intangled in a world where fiction and truth touch each other. Especially when also a journalist (Linda Edmond) comes along and the influential Max (John Mahoney) has carried a terrible secret for 40 years.'

After reading that I was surprised, never have I heard about any sort of conspiracy theory surrounding the car accident! The description of the dvd was ridicilous, especially since the movie was totally different from the description, it wasn't about any sort of conspiracy at all. It was about a man trying to come to terms with something that happened in his past, something terrible.

It was a beautiful movie, funny as well, but certainly not what the cover of the dvd says!
We also have a different cover from the picture shown on this website, you see the actor who played Dean in the movie of the movie, walking on that high road and in the background near the hills is a picture of the real James Dean.

If a copy excists in Holland, there must be in other countries as well.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't even know about this film, it's such a beautiful movie. :-)

Just bought a copy in Sydney, Australia for $2.00 - excellent movie.

I bought it here in Italy a few months ago, saw it tonight. I really liked it, highly recommended! :)

A company called www.flashbackentertainment.com is releasing it. Got my copy.

I don't know what is wrong with the world - but I know how to fix it.

Yeah I picked up a copy of this the other day at a bargain basement type discount store for $2.00 (in Sydney Australia). I had never heard of or read of it, I was just going through their $2 DVDs and found it, the title made me look twice, I saw the reference to James Dean on the front, read the back and decided to get it. (along with a couple others including Fritz Lang's Metropolis, Rescue from Gilligan's Island & Scream of the Wolf {Peter Graves & Clint Walker}- Well they didn't have much, mainly B- movies & some ancient lost classics, I guess you can't expect much for two bucks). Anyway about to put it on and watch it this lazy Sunday Morning.

I got a copy for $2.00 the other day as well at The Reject Shop (an Australian bargain shop).

It was good value for $2.00 but that's about the best I can say about it.
