It's the 10th aniversary of Wrestlemania. We are live from Madison Square Garden where it all started. Little Richard opens the show with America the Beautiful.
Jerry The King Lawler makes his color commentator ppv debut.

Match 1: Bret The Hitman Hart Vs The Rocket Owen Hart. This all started at Survivor Series 93 when Owen accused Bret of stealing the spotlight. Then thingsreally went down hill at the Royal Rumble when Bret lost the Harts a tag team title match. Owen is out to prove he can beat Bret. Bret outwrestles Owen earlyon but Owen slaps him in the puss for it. Bret catches Owen with a monkey flip that almost send Owen out of the ring. Owen bails out and starts walking back to the dressing room. Bret goes after him and rolls him back into the ring. Bret is controlling most of this match until Owen catches him with a heel kick. They go outside and Owen posts him. Owen slaps on a camel clutch. Can't get him with that, Owen jumps off the second rope with a crossbody but Bret turns it over, another close pin. Bret goes outside, Owen tries to suplex him back in Bret slides off and goes behind, Owen reverse and gets behind Bret and hits him with nice looking german suplex for a 2 count. Owen fires Bret into the turnbuckle sternom first and the crowd ooohhhs. Somehow Bret gets the upperhand. Bret's going through his combo moves. Inverted atomic drop, no pin. Russian Leg Sweep no pin. Elbow off the second rope, no pin. Bret's getting annoyed. Both guys are fighting for a sharpshooter, can't get it. Owen goes outside, Bret dives over the top rope and splats Owen, but hit's his knee in the process. Owen starts hauling off on Bret's knee. Owen slaps on the figure four. Bret gets out of it and Owen grabs his leg only to catch an enziguri. Bret fires Owen into the turnbuckle chest first and he bounces about 6 feet backwards. He may be out after that one. Bret gets the piledriver and bounces Owen a foot off the mat. Bret puts Owen on the second rope, no wait top rope superplex, wham!!! here's the pin...Owen still kicks out. Bret puts on a sleeper but Owen hits him low with a swing kick. Owen slaps on the sharpshooter. Bret gets to the ropes. Owen throws Bret to the turnbuckle, he charges but gets a foot in the mush. Bret jumps up top and tries a victory roll. But Owen simply sits down and catches bret in a cradle pin that is almost impossible to kick out of and gets the pin in 20:16. You know. I never paid much attention to this match before but after reviewing I give it 4 1/2 stars.
It is extremely close to a perfect 5 believe me. But I don't know, maybe because it didn't have that main event feel and the fans were not super into it.
Still a great event an I consider this the third or fourth best Mania event so far. If your a Hart fan go ahead and give it 5 stars. Use your own discretion. I especially like this match because it shows a heel beating the face clean with a very nice wrestling move. Not the usual WCW BS DQ crap.

Match 2: Mix Tag Match: Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna Vachon Vs Doink and Dink. Wrestlemania 10 goes down faster than an impotent mans morning wood with this match. Nothing noticable over before I can really review. Bam Bam and Luna win at 6:11. 1 star.

Match 3: Falls Count Anywhere match. Machoman Randy Savage Vs Crush. Okay here we go a new concept for the WWF in a falls count anywhere match. If we can judge by previous manias Savage is definatly the guy you would put out to make up for the previous match. This is the final match in their feud. Macho attacks Crush outside the ring but Crush stops it with an inverted atomic drop then that kickass tilt a whirl backbreaker, and finally caps it off with a press slam drop throat first onto the guard rail that injured Macho originally back in 0ct 93 I believe it was. Crush got beat up by Yoko in a title match and was upset his best friend Macho who was doing color commentating wouldn't come to help him until he was injured in traction. Crush pins Savage but Savage beat the 60 second count and gets back into the ring. Crush tries using salt but it backfires. Savage hits the big elbow and kicks Crush out of the ring to pin him. Crush beats the 60 count and gets back into the ring. Both men fight into the back area and Savage gets a pin. Savage then hog ties Crush and hoists him up like a side of beef and runs back to the ring. Crush won't beat the count as Savage wins it in 9:42. A fun match I say 2 1/2 stars. This would be the last PPV match Savage would ever wrestle in the WWF.

Match 4: Womens Title Match: Alundra Blaze Vs Leilani Kai. Nobody in the crowd cares or really knows who Kai is. Damn casual fans. Alright match. Very short Alundra scores the pin in 3:00. I give it 1 star. 1 star may sound crappy but it's light years ahead of any piec of s*** pillow fight or mud wrestling.

Match 5: Tag Team Title Match: Quebecers Vs Men On A Mission. Quebecers were one of the only good tag teams back in 93-94. Them and the Steiners barely kept the belts afloat. Since alot of the golden year tag teams had fallen by this time.

We go to a skit where Shawn Michaels has an encounter Burt Reynolds.

Back to the ring. Nothing special until Jacques backdrops Pierre over the top rope onto Mo on the outside. Mo gets in trouble makes the hot tag to Mabel aka Grimace and he starts throwing both guys around. Quebecers get a double suplex on Mabel. Which impresses the crowd. They hit him with their finisher but it still doesn't keep him down. Men On A Mission win by a countout during the confusion, s***y ending. 2 stars.

Match 6: World Championship Match: Yokozuna Vs Lex Luger. Luger and Bret co won the 1994 Royal Rumble to face Yokozuna at Mania. Lex won the coin toss to get the first match. I think Luger was scheduled to wrestle Crush originally
but since he won the toss he went after Yoko first. The winner has to defend
against Hitman in the second title match. Rhonda Sheere from USA's up all night is the guest time keeper, and Danny Walberg is guest ring announcer. Walberg introduces the guest ref.....Mr Perfect. Crowd goes nuts. Lawler complains it's totally unfair, saying Luger has got Henning in his back pocket. Um Luger cheated in beating Henning at Mania 9 the previous year, so im not so sure Henning is going to lean in Lugers favor. Luger knocks Yoko out of the ring and sends him into the steps. Yoko turns it around inside and splats Luger on the mat. Henning is distracted by Cornette so Yoko removes the turnbuckle pad. Yoko puts on the vulcan nerve hold of death and is wearing Luger down. Luger fight back and Fuji gets involved. Luger knocks out Fuji and hits Yoko with the bionic forearm. Luger goes for the pin but Henning is trying to get Fuji out of the ring. Luger gets mad and gives Henning a push for not counting the fall. Henning gets mad and DQs Lex at 13:46. Crowd stars a BS chant. Henning and Luger get into an arguement backstage. Everybodys saying Lex was robbed of his title victory. Hey that's karma coming back to bite you in the ass Luger from your match at Mania 9. Also your not supposed to mess with refs or beat up managers and bring them into the ring. 2 stars.

Match 7: Earthquake Vs Adam Bomb: Harvey Wipleman gets on Howard Finkles case
for the last time and Howard shoves Wipleman down. Crowd loves it. Adam Bomb
comes out and is going to take Howards head off, Earthquake comes in and makes the save. A belly to belly suplex, Powerslam and Quake ends it in 35 seconds.
This years dud match.

Match 8: Ladder Match for the IC title: Razor Ramone Vs Shawn Michaels. This should be good. Michaels debuts his tights with the heart designs. Diesel interferes early and gets thrown out of the building for his trouble. Michaels starts using the ladder and throws it into Razor's back. A Wrestlemania moment coming up. Shawn splashes Razor off the 12 foot ladder. Razor takes over
and uses the ladder and runs it into Michaels who gets squashed between the ladder and the ring post. Razor sets up the ladder and almost has the belt, but
Michaels comes off the top rope and knocks Razor off. Both guys try going up the ladder but Ramone throws Shawn off the ladder. Both guys are down. Another Mania moment Shawn rides the ladder down onto Razor. Im surprised neither guy has any signs of cuts or bruises yet. Michaels does the only wrestling hold in the match when he hits a sweet piledriver that bounces Ramone 2 feet off the mat. I miss piledrivers:( Shawn tries going up the ladder and he's almost got the belt. Razor pushes the ladder over and Shawn gets tangled in the ropes. Razor goes up the ladder and gets the belts before Shawn can free himself. Time of the match 18:27. Has to be considered in the top ten best Mania matches so far. I give it 4 stars. Not much if any wrestling just two guys beating the snot out of eachother with a ladder.

Match 9: 10 Man Tag: 1-2-3 Kid, Bob Holly, Tatanka, and Smokin Gunns Vs Jeff Jarrett, IRS, Rick Martel, and Headshrinkers. Match never happens because the heels can't decide on a leader. BS

Match 10: World Title Match Yokozuna Vs Bret Hart: Burt Reynolds is the guest announcer and the blonde from 90210 is guest time keeper. Roddy piper is announced as guest referee. Crowd goes crazy again. Yoko jumps Bret as he's getting in the ring. Bret fights back he goes for a pin but Cornette breaks it up by pulling out Piper. Piper quickly knocks out Cornette. Yoko fights back and uses his weight to wear down the Hitman. Its mostly Yoko for the rest of the match until he drags Bret over for the banzai drop. But Yoko looses his balance and slips off the ropes and smacks his head. Bret slowly crawls over and gets the pin in a surprising ending at 10:35. I give it 2 1/2 stars. Lex, Piper, Razor, Tatanka, Macho Man the celebrities and a bunch of other wrestlers come in to celebrate. Owen Hart comes out and is standing in the entrance way. Looking obessed with Bret's victory. This would lead us the the cage match between the Harts at Summerlsam 94.

Overall I give this event 7.3 stars. A hell of alot better than last years Mania.

Unbelieveable. With the new rating system, this ppv became the best Wrestlemania of it's time. I never really appreciated back in the day and I was still semi mark back then. Looking back, I didn't appreciate what an overall solid card it was. Today I find it was actually better than Mania 3!!!

Best Match: Bret Vs Owen
Worst Match: Earthquake Vs Adam Bomb

Current Mania standings

Mania 10: 7.3
Mania 3: 7.1
Mania 6: 7.0
Mania 5: 7.0
Mania 7: 6.9
Mania 4: 6.8

Hahahahahaha.

This show is all about Bret/Owen and the Ladder Match, but the falls count anywhere was good, and Doink & Dink were funny. Bret winning the title was a great moment. Still probably the best WM ever except for X-7.

I agree with you that Bret vs. Owen was the best match, i think it was superior to the ladder match

The Ladder match was awesome, but besides that nO Taker and that horrible Yokozuna is still a main eventer, we basically wind up with the exact same ME 2 years in a row, but this time without the Hogan surprise.

I've heard the original plan was for Luger to be Champ by the end of the Night, bu he got Drunk and spoiled the ending at a bar and was thus punished.

Regardless of who would have won Bret vs Luger was what people were wanting to see after the Rumble ending, and Yoko was the worst champ WWF had ever had, he has no business heading a Mania.

And the Bret Owen feud was kinda silly, and is the reason Bret never was the actual Main Event during his entire Title reign, cause his main feud was a Mid Carder.

I may have mixed about how IX ended, but the unique Vibe Caesar's palace gave it makes it stand out, Taker's match marks the first time he was the 2nd to last match at a Mania, and I liked Shawn and Luger's matches as well. SO I consider 9 better then 10.
