How can WM 7 be the end? Really it led to the WWF's best era which was late 91-92 Oh my goodness how can any 80's-90's wrestling fan not love this period and I got a bunch of reasons

1. Ric Flair, the biggest name of the old NWA/WCW debuted during this time and
the fact the WWF acknowedged that he was a World Champion in another wresting
league was a very awesome shock

2. Jake Roberts turned heel and gave the best promos/angles of any heel during that time and thats saying something considering great heel masters like Flair
and Ted Dibiase being around

3. The great build-up of both Bret Hart and Shawn Micheals in the singles ranks
I knew that both were going to be the big guns after the Hogan era was done and
there was already an attempt with Hart.

4. Undertaker so perfectly pushed as such a powerful force either face or heel

5. So many entertaing gimmick wrestlers. Alot of fans may think its too much
like a circus but Kamala, Papa Shango, The Mountie, Repo Man, and IRS were just
great fun to watch

6. Yokozuna-He was really something to was something special to watch. His performances in the ring were really amazing for a guy his weight

7. So many well done storylines/feuds. Savage vs Roberts, Savage vs Flair,
Bret Hart vs Bulldog, Hulk vs Flair/Undertaker, Hulk vs Sid, Hart vs Micheals

8. The greatest Royal Rumble match ever 1991. Can you imagine Flair, Hogan, Savage, Piper, Dibiase, Roberts, Undertaker, Micheals, Bulldog, and Kerry Von Erich in the same match!

Wrestlemania 7 the end? More like you haven't seen anything yet!

I agree dude. WM 8 and 10 were 2 of my faves.

What were you rooting for that Iraqi traitor Sgt Slaughter? Did you really want him to take the title back to Iraq as a gift to Saddam Hussein?

reply

it ended around 2005 when they went PG on wrastling. now a days all the wrestlers are carbon copies of each other.

In many ways it was. The boom period had actually ended a year earlier, but this was the onscreen ending.

How WrestleMania 7 DERAILED the WWE’s Momentum in the Early 90s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hzpXfm6eMM

WrestleMania 7 was originally set to take place in front of 100,000 fans at the Los Angeles Coliseum in Los Angeles California. Instead, the event was moved to the LA Sports Arena that held around 15,000 fans, making it a significant downgrade from the SkyDome which played host to WrestleMania the year prior. WrestleMania 7 was headlined by an extremely controversial storyline at the time when former American hero and longtime baby face, Sgt. Slaughter turned heel by aligning himself with General Adnan, becoming an Iraqi sympathizer in the process. The execution of this WrestleMania contributed to the downturn of the WWF’s business following the boom of Hulkamania throughout the 80s and may have been a catalyst in the downturn of company. Today I uncover arguably the most controversial storyline the WWF has ever produced.
