If you could rebook this whole event

This was one of the worst WM's ever but if you make any changes you want what WM9 card would you have. If I was Vince Id book the event like this

1. Mr. Perfect vs Shawn Micheals for the IC belt. I never cared much for Takanka
or Lex Luger (Micheal's and Perfect's opponents) I think this would would have potential to be one of the best IC matches in mania history. Micheals gets the pin after a 15 min classic see-saw bout

2. Undertaker vs Razor Ramon. Ramon would def make a better opponent for Taker
than Giant Gonzalas. Taker gets a clean pin. Really the streak on this WM would
be much better with a pin-fall over a 6'7 wrestler that can perform good than a dq over an 8' guy who cant wrestle in a silly bigfoot suit

3. Ric Flair vs Bob Backlund. I would bend over backwards to keep Flair and start to build up his return to top heel beating Backlund-I make it at least a good 15-20 min old-school match with 2 old-school masters

4. Hulk Hogan vs Giant Gonzalas-Gonzalas can't have a good match with anyone but the way Hulk has the ability to get great fan heat no matter who he fights
The match has the outcome the Gonzalas-Taker match would have (Hogan by dq) Again would not be good but would give the Hulk fans there yearly WM moment
I recall fans chanting Hogan's name in the orginal match with Undertaker

5. Lex Luger defeat Takanka- Takanka's winning streak never went any where

6. Bam Bam Bigelow, Doink, and Papa Shango defeats Crush, Kamala, and Tito
Santana. Give some of the B-class guys some WM exposure

7. Steiner Bros d Money Inc for the tag belts

8. Bret Hart vs Yokozuna for the WWF belt. goes on as planned but no
second match where Hogan gets the belt and Ric Flair interfers (again
to put him back in main event position). Hogan only makes the save

I was also thinking that another possibe WM 9 alternate match would be Randy Savage vs Doink (maybe put Rick Martel in my six-man tag) I think the whole
Crush vs Doink angle would work alot better with Savage instead of Crush. I
know Savage was a commenter for this event but he still had a few years left
as a good performer in the ring and I feel hed have in-ring chemistry with Doink
I say Savage gets the win after Doink 2's interferance backfires and he gets the pin with his famous flying elbow

I think they could have made a match with Hogan and Lex Luger. I think the best thing for Wrestlemania at the time is to give Hogan some big victory over a major heel-to make the hulkster fans happy without putting the belt on him, because he was going to leave the WWF anyway. I don't like Luger and Gonzalas
as wrestlers but Hogan always has way of making his matches with bigger brawlers
at least somewhat exciting

If I were booking this event would be another double event. Yokozuna over Bret
and Hogan over Gonzalas/Luger so the event can still end with a hero on top

Im gonna be honest, to rebook this event for me, you gotta re-do the rumble of 1993.

I would have had Mr. Perfect win the rumble. What I feel people dont realize, PERFECT was insanely over. He just left Ric Flair. I remember as a kid (CUT ME A BREAK I was a child) I of course loved Hogan, than Warrior. At this time, I was tired of Hogan/Warrior, and I remember being a big Perfect fan. Now the rumble would have changed....I remember the first half of that 93 rumble, great. Flair, Perfect eliminating Flair. I remember when Perfect got eliminated, THAN TAKER came in and as a kid I was like yay! Then he gets tossed by a dude not in it.

So than you say, but UT dominated. Well, Backlund was knocked out on the outside. I would have had Perfect/Backlund both knocked out on the outside, Giant Gonzalez (eye roll) we....and had Perfect, not Yoko win. I would have had Yoko dominant, but when all the wrestlers ganged up, he is gone. And remember how Yoko was gone...HBK just pushed him and Vader over, like WOW! (Year 2 when HBK won)

So now, my main event...
Perfect Vs. Bret Hart, Round 2 (KOTR didnt happen yet)
I would have finally given Perfect a WWF title run! And hed fued with...

I think Luger over Tatanka would have been great AND A SUPER PUSH for Lex! And wed then have a Perfect/Luger fued after WM for the title.

So now we got Lex/Yoko with no matches. So.....

Undertaker V Giant Gonzalez sadly still.

Earthquake & Hacksaw Jim Duggan Vs Yokozuna (2 on 1 handicap match)
(This would elevate Yoko, yoko getting a win over TWO WWF stars)

So now...what to do with Hogan. I have 2 options...
1. Keep it the same. Money Inc Vs. Beefcake-Hogan AND Steiners Vs Headshrinkers...OR

Hulk Hogan Vs Razor Ramon

Steiners Vs Headshrinkers

OR If WWE could have kept Flair...
Hogan/Beefcake Vs Razor/Flair

But, Flair was gone. So then if we got Hogan Vs Razor, what to do with beefcake now?!

So....

Shawn Michaels Vs. Brutus Beefcake (Beefcake wins by countout)

So, Id go like this....in order....

Opening Match
High Energy (Owen and Koko) Vs Headshrinkers (Headshrinkers win cleanly)

Match 2 (I love your idea of the lower guys some love!) Id made a fun 5 on 5 survivor series match for WM..

Team Crush
Crush-Backlund-Tito-Kamala-Virgil (OR, we could take Virgil-Kamala Out, add in the Nastys, theyre my replacements...but...
Vs
Team Doink
Doink-Papa Shango-Bam Bam-Repo Man-Rick Martel (Also, the Skinner-Berzerker would be my replacements, incase Shango wanted 2 be used only to interupt a match, than throw him out and add in Berzerker or Skinner)

So Match 2..
Team Crush Vs Team Doink
Crush-Backlund-Tito-Kamala-Virgil Vs. Doink-Papa Shango-Bam Bam-Repo Man-Rick Martel

(Virgil goes out 3 mins in, pinned by Doink. Repo Man eliminated by Crush, 5 min mark. Martel eliminated by backlund at the 8 min mark. Kamala/Bam Bam double countout at the 10 min mark. Tito eliminated by Shango at the 12 min mark. Backlund gets double teamed by Shango/Doink, eliminated at the 15 min mark. Shango gets DQed at the 17 min mark knocking crush out, and Doink gets the quick win, making him the winner!)

Match 3

Hacksaw/Earthquake Vs. Yokozuna in a 2 on 1 match.

Yokozuna squashes both and gets the win, elevating his status (Since I took away his rumble win!)

Match 4

Shawn Michaels Vs. Brutus Beefcake w/ Jimmy Hart...

(Either HBK loses by countout, OR Beefcake loses by DQ by hitting Shawn with Jimmys Mic, but getting caught by the ref)

Match 5

Hulk Hogan Vs Razor Ramon

(Hogan sadly wins here, but, I think this match can also help elevate Razor!)

Match 6

Money Inc Vs Steiners

(This, im not sure what to do. Ill go Steiners win by DQ, but you can see this fued will continue

Match 7

Tatanka Vs. Lex Lugar

(Luger gives Tatanka his first lost)

Match 8
UT Vs Gonzalez

(Keep it the same, shrug)

Match 9 (Main Event)

Mr. Perfect Vs. Bret Hart

(Id make it a long, brutal match, but, id give Perfect the win here, giving him his first WWF(e) title run!)

Also, one thing, Macho Man. If you wanted, you could have added the Macho Man in the Crush match, and take out someone, BUT, if you did this Id feel Crush's team would win. I didnt add Macho in cuz for some reason he did commentary.)
Now is this Perfect (No pun intended) no but I think it been more entertaining over what the hell we got!)

Mr. Perfect-Shawn Michaels is very doable, and I like the Flair-Backlund match (It would have been better for Backlund to sell the loss to Flair than Razor since Razor-Backlund was pointless). I would have Hart-Yoko ending with Yoko winning and ending the broadcast there to sell the mystique that he was unbeatable and unstoppable. It would have given the fans their money's worth than another tired Hogan title reign that never went anywhere.

Hogan winning did give the fans their money's worth. That's why everybody in the audience exploded with joy when he won. As much as this ending gets crapped on by the IWC today, this was the best moment from WrestleMania IX and the only one that mattered.

My car is fast, my teeth is shiny, I tell all the girls they can kiss my heinie!

This was the first time I order a Wrestlemania on PPV, so I remember when it happened. The whole Hogan winning the title thing left a sour taste in my mouth since I didn't feel anything from it. I thought it cheapened a mostly subpar show. I was pretty much past the whole Hulkamania thing by then. But that is just me. If you or anyone else got anything positive out of it, great.
