Why did the kid have a Richard Nixon CD?
I remember seeing this in 2002 and wondering why the kid had a Richard Nixon CD? What was that about?

shareThe poster asked....why did he have a Nixon CD.....but what is actually said in the movie is that his mom (J.Lo) has a "Nixon tape" for him. The Nixon tapes were recordings he made in the White House of meetings and so forth....they eventually were sopoenaed and would have been used against him...had he not resigned.
Going further, the explanation of Nixon...and Simon and Garfunkel, and Bread is clearly explained by Marisa when she tells Chris Marshall that his class at school had been studying the decade of the 1970s.....and he had become interested in things from that decade.
Frankly, I wish Ty's question as to why Simon & Garfunkel broke up would have been answered with more than a flippant response from JLo...when she said...I don't know...look it up on the interent. It would have been real fun for the screenwriters to provide their own version of the answer...
