Am I the only one who think that Nataha's character wasn't that mean

It's funny how everybody thinks she was like a horrible person in this film but I think she wasn't that mean.

At the beginning she was very polite and treated Marisa well and her reaction when she saw Marisa with her clothes was normal.

Sure she had her flaws like being kind of judgmental and a little shallow that's why Chris still didn't felt for her after their dinner together, probably if she showed a nicer personality he would have forgotten about Marisa but com on we have seen worst bitches in other rom Coms

Well, she was extremely selfish, but she really wasn't that bad. She actually said a few nice things to Marissa here and there. Now her friend was a real bitch, lol.

I'm with you. Caroline wasn't the "evil vamp" that most would expect her to be. As you said, she was very polite in the way that she talked to Marisa. She didn't have to be. Seeing as she was so rich, she probably had a dozen maids working for her at her home. But she didn't treat Marisa like a "servant" or order her around. She asked her politely, thanked her and even called her a doll". A LOT of people would rarely talk so politely to the hotel maids. Her friend was a total jerk though.

"I'm the dude playin' the dude, disguised as another dude!"

reply

Yes I agree that Caroline's friend was the true bitch.
She felt way superior to everyone else and seems like she was slut hehe

Like the poster said, she was very selfish and judgmental that's why Chris didn't fall for her because at the dinner she had her chance to connect with him but seems like that side of her was a huge turn off for him.

But still like I said she wasn't the typical villain of your average rom com.

to me it was her voice and facial expressions that bugged me more than what she said haha

I LOVED JLos passive aggressive what of making fun of that ladys friend that was wearing the colored bra and see through top haha

I think it was nice how they didn't make her a COMPLETE bad person/antagonist because in real life, its not always like that. Just because two people don't belong together doesn't mean one of them is a bitch, you know?

reply

She was a ditz rather than a bitch.

Yes agree in everything you said, I also think they didn't make Caroline a total bitch because it was played by Natasha Richardson who looked like she was one of nicest actresses in Hollywood so it wouldn't have been believable as true villain.

reply

I agree. I liked the way they portrayed her character.

Wow – I can't imagine anybody not liking her voice! She's got the perfect British accent – just perfect – or nearly so! Not every brit sounds as good as her, believe me! To me, her voice is a sheer delight :-)

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!

She was petty and vengeful. She "accidentally" let her ex know of all her dates just to irritate him. She wanted casual favors of whoever wandered by. The bit where she tossed the purple flower aside was intended to paint her as thoughtless. She was also written as ridiculously materialistic.

You might have failed to hate her simply because the writing was so awful.
