what makes this dark than the disney movie???

besides the violence and gore.

its mainly the images, and the fact that it's not a musical and it's not made for little kids.

the difference is mainly the storyline, which does not focus on purely having some fun, some tea and some musical entertaining laughs as in the normal wonderland. wonderland in this sequel is symbolising alice's greatly disturbed mind after hearing and seeing her parents die in a fire at the house. Her interference in wonderland is merely interfering in her safe side of the mind which is not touched by the gruesome death of her parents, her inside world. If she can fix things there she can come out again, ofcourse symbolising her being able to cope with the trauma she experienced.

Its made by American McGee and if you knew what he does, you'd understand exactly why its not for kids! American McGee takes simple ordinary fairy tale/story book characters even characters from Mother Goose and gives them a dark wicked/perverted twist. I've only heard of his Little Miss Muffet sculpter, but what I heard about it, ummm, its quite, Racy, to say the least. He just took sweet, nice little Alice and gave her a dark cynical side and plopped her back into a very dark, demented Wonderland. I love the way he did it, but I don't ever want to see kids any younger then may 16 playing this game. This game came out when I was 16.

Well here's the game summary/plot you tell me how this is darker than the disney one.
Shortly after her second adventure, Alice's house is burned down by a fire, killing her parents, and leaving her as the only survivor. Because of the guilt, she tries to commit suicide (bandages can be seen on her wrists), and becomes catatonic. She is institutionalised in Rutledge Asylum. Years later, the White Rabbit summons Alice to aid a radically altered Wonderland, now under the despotic rule of the Queen of Hearts. The Cheshire Cat serves as Alice's companion throughout the game, frequently appearing to guide her with cryptic comments.
