Cowboy Bebop vs. Trigun

Music: Bebop

Animation: Bebop

Style: Bebop

Writing: Trigun (just BARELY, but the last half of Trigun is so perfectly constructed and I think some of Bebop's episodes that are not plot related are merely style over substance)

Story: Trigun (Not the same as Writing. This one isn't near as close.)

Spike Spiegel vs. Vash The Stampede: Tie (Too hard. I genuinely can't decide.)

Jet Black vs. Nicholas D. Wolfwood: Wolfwood

Faye Valentine vs. Meryl Stryfe: Faye

Ed vs. Milly Thompson: Tie (Again. Too tough.)

Vicious vs. Knives: Knives

Julia vs. Rem Saverem: Julia

End Count...

Cowboy Bebop: 7
Trigun: 6

I guess that means Bebop wins but... there was no way to include Legato who's my second favorite character into the comparison, so it's not entirely fair.

I agree with WeirdRaptor 100%, so I guess that's 2 vs 1 on Trigun's favor.

both on my top 10, but i´m going with bebop

Trigun.... I am a Cowboy Bebop fan, but in all seriousness... Trigun would win against Cowboy Bebop. Really, those are kinda based on your own opinion (And really thought out!). .... Oo PUDDING!

Because this on the Trigun message board its gonna be biased. Anyway Cowboy Bebop is miles ahead.

reply

personally i never really liked cowboy bebop. i watched the whole thing but it didn't really seem like anything special. i do like madhouse's "Trigun" and "Hellsing" tho.

reply

Trigun, the only thing I didn't like was the animation. Cowboy Bebop had one too many episodes that bored me and not enough great one's to make it the "masterpiece" everybody proclaims it to be.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is the worst anime series ever created.

reply

i dunno... they're both different enough that i can appreciate them differently. i've only seen a few episodes of trigun (but i've thoroughly enjoyed all of them) and i've seen all of cowboy bebop. i'm one of those people who doesn't feel a need to choose one over the other.

I think I'm going to give the vote to CB. Trigun was great, but it seemed to slip and almost fall at some points of the show. Some of the situations seem to be overdone.

I actually agree with pretty much all your points. Ive seen both and loved them. Id say theyre a tie for greatness really. The only one i may debate more on was the style elements, pretty close.

Good Post

Alright let's see.

Music: Bebop very very easily

Animation: Bebop, I mean who would argue that?

Style: Bebop is a style in itself

Writing: Close call but Bebop actually tugged at my emotions at certain times and I'm not the sentimental type sooo Bebop.

Story: Definitely Trigun

Spike Spiegel vs. Vash The Stampede: Spike because Vash isn't willing to kill and Spike will kill himself just to kill you.

Jet Black vs. Wolfwood: Dammit!!! Don't make me do this... uh Jet. NO Wolfwood. um *beep* I don't know.

Faye Valentine vs. Meryl Stryfe: Faye easily.

Ed vs. Milly: Another close one but I gotta go with Ed. Simply because of Mushroom Samba. I usually don't laugh out loud but dammit that whole ep. was hilarious.

Vicious vs. Knives: Hmmmm. Knives was off the hook but I've never gotten over Vicious making that elder "cry" blood so Vicious.

Julia vs. Rem: Julia is an assbeater and that takes the cake in my book

Mad Pierrot vs. Legato: Just so I can include these two because they both deserve mention IMO. Mad Pierrot to me is a haunting character.

Ein vs. Kuroneko-sama: Easily Kuroneko and I hate cats but that "Myah" is always on time.

Do I really need to tally this. I have alot of respect for Trigun but CB is on a whole nother level for me.

Having not seen all of Cowboy Bebop, and seen all of Trigun, all I'm going to say is that Vash is a very very fun character.

Only Cowboy Bebop is on a whole nother level for you?

*beep* they're both on their own levels.

reply

Trigun, but bebop is a far sleeker shot like everyone seems to be in agreement about. I wonder how much bigger Bebop's budget was from Triguns though. There were a lot of Bebop episodes that I was really unimpressed by.

reply

i have watched both ,sooooooooooo

Trigun!

it's more interesting story.the 3 final episodes are amazing.i have heard so much about cb and it's not that i don't like it,but some episodes were just fillers.it was fun and it had a cool style, but not very deep story.Trigun on the other hand starts kinda funny, almost childish, but at the end it has some deep philosophical issues.

As for Legato, maybe he is the most interesting character in both series,so you can't let him out.

I trust that all your questions have been answered.

(Seriously, if you haven't seen it watch the whole thing, it's awesome... ;) )

For me Bebop definitely wins in the cathegories:

style, story

I liked the industrial, fragmanted music in Trigun, I equally liked Yoko Kannos masterpieces in Bebop.

Spike vs Vash... Dont know, maybe because I saw Bebop first, and loved it so much, i would stick to Spike, but Vash definitely has got a lot to offer.

Jet Black vs. Nicholas D. Wolfwood: tie! Much as I like Wolfwood, I stil have a soft spot for Jet

Faye Valentine :)

Ed vs Milly: Ed, I couldnt stand Milly

Vicious vs. Knives: Vicious

Awwww, actually, I dont know, I liked Trigun so much, but it seems to lose in most cathegories for me somehow. Maybe because I saw it second, but it seemed missing something for me as well. Maybe because of the ending as well... bebops melancholic ending, the plot leading to such a sad, sad end, left me with a feeling of emptiness, that is still quite vivid, even though I saw the show 7 or so years ago.

I never got into Cowboy Bebop to be honest.
