Don't forget Myst IV: Revelation and Myst V: End of Ages, as well. The novels kick butt, and currently someone's working on a fourth one, tentatively titled The Book of Marrim. They plan to finish it by January and publish it soon after.

I have the books but haven't read them. And I'll look for the Book of Marrim.

They're either Austrailans trying to be American, or Americans trying to be Austrailan.

I read all three, you can get them in one big volume at chapters.ca (that was about two years ago, but im sure its still there). My fave was the Book of Ti'ana. Part one of the book is quite long, and a little difficult to get through, but its the core foundation to understand Dni. When you get to part two, things start moving and its a lot more enjoyable. If you want to do it chronologicaly wise, id start with that one. The book is about a girl named Anna, who becomes the first surface dweller to enter dni. I love myst, and i cant wait till the new one comes out!!! The book and the next game. please excuse my horrid spelling. its my week spot and im to lazy to correct it.

I have read all three books, played and finished Myst, Riven, Myst 3 Exile, Myst 4 Revelation and Myst 5 End of Ages!! I'm just so addicted to it all. The story of Saavedro and Atrus' sons in Myst 3 is not in the books, but a side extension to the The Book of D'ni (3rd in series).

The characters of Sirrus and Achenar are not in any of the books, but is further explored in Exile and Revelation. Yeesha, Atrus' daughter, and both the sons play a large role in Myst 4 Revelation (she is still a teenager). And the story of Myst 5 is all about Yeesha (grown up - young adult) and her relationship with the Relyimah (otherwise known as the Bahro)

I'm not telling what will happen to the sons in Revelation, because that will spoil the story for you big time. End of Ages is just absolutely brilliant and follow the Riven-trend of playing (I think Riven might even be the best of all). I liked Revelation too, but it doesn't quite follow the whole franchise that well. It is great, but different.

But, read the books too. There is some shocking turn of events occurring in the Book of D'ni.
