While dancing dreamingly to Andreas' organ music in church, Claire succumbs to (apparently) a coronary since there was a mention earlier by her husband that she had a "heart condition". Fade from the church to Claire on her death bier that is visited by Andreas for a final chaste kiss on the forehead while her husband and family are in attendance. Final scene has Andreas and husband walking together in companionship to share their combined grief.
