What was the 83 meaning???

I know her name was gypsy but what did the 83 mean???

I always presumed it was her AOL screen name, since Gypsy and Clive are seen using AOL at one point. In a lot of sites, if the name you want is taken, they "suggest" other names, which are usually the same name plus a number. But you probably already knew that, catlvr29.

You are absolutely correct. Gypsy 83 was Gypsy Vale's AOL screen name.

the 83 stands for, i'm guessing the year her mother Velvet left, April 13th, 1983.

I was wondering the same thing but I am guessing that it was because of the year her Mother left. I find it interesting at the end when the lady announced her as Gypsy 83 instead of Gypsy or Gypsy Vale.

Wouldn't that be the year she was born? They were still in high school which would make them around 18-19 years old and this movie was made in 2001.
