Suitable For A 13-Year-Old?

This is on Channel 4 at 1A.M. on Monday night. I am desperate to watch it - I'm 13 - and I want my friends - all 13 - and twin sister to watch it because it sounds great. How violent is it? Is it actually scary - nightmare stuff? I'm actually quite sensiitive BUT....I would love to watch it. How would you grade the violence and do you think it is suitable?

reply

Its not horror movie stuff, but it is quite hardcore, especially for a thirteen y.o.
But, if you feel you can cope with gunshots and stabbings (And lets face it you've probably seen it all before), then go ahead and give it a view.
Summary: Better for some teenagers than others.
My Advice: Ask your mum or dad to watch it first and let them tell you if you can watch it or not.

Hope i helped.

Hmmm.

Its interesting. The point the movie makes...
by highlighting the various types of media...
and pushing ful tilt...well...anyone should be able to appreciate that. There is probably one scene that seems...um violent.

If there was going to be one potential upsetting factor (which actually makes it so damned good!) is that putting side by side...cops and any other 'reality' show...it takes those lines and techniques so well into its approach as a movie. Of course one knows they are watching a movie...

So...i really don't know.

It ain't no A Nightmare on Elm Street!
(distant childhood nighmares...great!)

Maybe get the parents to tape it...
And fast foward the inappropriate bits.

Hmmmm. Responsability. Censors. Hmmm.

"Ask your mum or dad to watch it first and let them tell you if you can watch it or not."

Yes, we should absolutely not encourage a 13 year old make up his mind [/sarcasm]

I watched The Exorcist at around the same age as him, did I have any problems? Absolutely not! If anything, I had found the film pretty comedic.

I still have a jolly good laugh remembering when I invited my neighbourhood "leader-of-the-gang" friend to watch Child's Play together, and he responded with something along the lines of "No way man, I'm gonna sh!t my pants!"

Summary: Watching a supposedly "inapproppriate" film will hardly turn a kid into a psycho or pervert. If a kid is disturbed by it, oh well, it's a lesson to be learned. I hate when people try to put kids in a safety bubble as much as those who force them to grow up too early.

-Goodnight, mother of six!
-Goodnight, father of two!

Ask your parents. That's what they're there for.

Well now that you're 22 or close to it, what did you think? lol

Please, go...Stop smiling, it's not a joke. Please leave...The party's over. Get out.
