Horrible ending

I bought this before last semester ended because Right Stuf was having a sale on Bandai stuff. I remembered seeing the trailer to this on my Gundam Wing VHS tapes from back in the day, so I picked it up.

The series was going fine, and I liked how they focused on each member of the A.M.P. But then as the series started coming to a close, it seemed as though the storyline was getting sloppy. It was as if the creators suddenly realized "oh crap, we're 18 episodes in; we'd better make this series actually go somewhere."

And then the final episode doesn't even end the series. Perhaps they thought that it was going to be renewed for another series, but there's absolutely no closure. Maybe I'll have to pick up the manga.

I think it was intentional so you would be forced to buy the comic to find out the conclusion. Now I will never find out what will happen.

The ending was okay. I think the whole point of the last episode was to open up the fact that there was(or is going to?) going to be a continuation of the story, meaning a season 2. Seeing as there probably will never be one...it's probably one of those things my friend calls a "traditional Japanese ending;" you know about the last events(Katsumi being pregnant, what is going to happen to the Tokyo "refugees", continued fighting of Lucifer Hawks by re-united AMP, etc.) but the actual "ending" is open for interpretation and personal thought. I do have to agree that the series didn't focus on an actual plotline until the last several episodes(more than halfway point through) and rather just focused on the individual characters. I enjoy character development immensely because it shows that not all the characters are boring or the same; they all have their own problems and sufferings.
