Paul Orndorff went from the main event in wrestlemania 1 to the opening match in 2 but was nowhere to be seen in the Pontiac Silverdome on that historic day of wrestlemania 3. I know he was still in the WWF because later that year he teamed up with Hogan in the first ever Survivor Series. Does anyone know why he wasnt in wrestlemania 3?

Yeah. He turned face when Heenan brought in Ravishing Rick Rude and made a big deal about his phsyique. Orndorf got annoyed and dumped him.
shareYeah, but back then they announced big PPV matches months ahead of time, and Orndorff was never advertised for a match on WM3, so unless they were planning on him doing a surprise run-in or something, he wasn't booked for the show, injury or not.
I've heard people say that at the time the event was being booked, he was injured and was only wrestling part time. I also heard that the WWF wanted to keep in off the card and use him as a last minute replacement in the main event just in case Andre was not readly to wrestle or if Andre wasn't willing to loose to Hogan.
