What Paul should have done when Edward came to his home

Just talking and giving him vodka could lead to a fight he should have known that. In his case worse happened. He should have sat down with Edward talked like they started. It was obvious he wasn't trying to offend Edward . Then he should have said "sir I have business else where. But I see the pain this is causing you and would your child. I have not been calling her back for a few days now because I wanna date people and let it be serious and not just fun. I'm actually seeing one now(girl he took to the bookstore ) . Just tell her I don't wanna be the cause of pain in her family anymore and here's a present she gave me(give back snowglobe ) then get him out of your house.

He never should have let him in the house in the first place. He didn't know Edward, his intentions, or his mentality in that moment. He obviously knew it wouldn't be a friendly encounter.

Paul was a dick for having an affair with a married woman, yes. But it was Connie's fault more so. Edward should have confronted her, not Paul.

Exactly . Paul should have done what you said or just fessed up apologized said he's seeing other women get outa my house.
