Editing
The thing that impressed me most about this movie was its superb editing. Not only is the camera used superbly but so is silence. Moments are allowed to hang quietly for us to absorb and feel. Komplex ideas are conveyed to us without having to be explained. Diane Lane's emotions felt completely authentic throughout this movie. I'm a bit disappointed that her career has not gone further than it has in the 15 years since then.
