I thought the movie was hilarious...

Sure, the plot was really cliched and stupid, but some parts in the movie had me in tears from laughing so much. The pet shop scene took the cake: Starchild, the oblivious clerk, piranhas, the bubble wrap and helium...also, the campy techno music used during these scenes doubled the goofiness by 100%. It was my favorite part in the movie. I'd like to add that the kid in this movie was the perfect casting choice...he really did a great job!

I'm glad you enjoyed the movie as well.. .to see the movie averaged a rating of 4.8/10 is really quite disappointing. I think the comical relief of this film isn't fairly considered by the people who said it sucked. My favourite scene was when the poor guy kept touching the dog "kaka", man, that was priceless, and then he fell into the crap , the dog from satan, flashing the police officers...

Ya it was real funny. It was childish, but how can you say that the average person can't enjoy something childish? Half of them are already childish, anyway.

reply

Oh, yeah! How about at the end, when the mafia boss' balls are banging together? And that little kid is terrific.

I think the backstory of Agent Cassavettes wanting Murdoch and him being completely oblivious to it was brilliant.

"The dog is not your animal. You do not rub it's belly - you don't see me rubbing agent cassavettes belly do you!?!" <Cassavettes with a disappointed look>

Even the seen where Murdoch shows up at her house and she's looking amazing in her nightgown, thinking he's finally going to profess his love to her.

Great movie the entire case was excellent - especially Michael Clarke Duncan, David Arquette, and Anthony Anderson.

That kid's pretty funny on Two and a Half Men. And the funniest part of the movie for me was when the mom got home looking all blown up and Arquette saw her and freaked and cereal went flying everywhere! Oh man that was great. :D

Thats my second favorite scene. This movie was hilarious! Then again i'm a kid.. Well I think I would still like it even if I was older. My favorite part was when he kept falling into dog crap rofl.

Hi,

I think it was sweet at some parts and hilarious at others.. I'm a 45 yo mother and I could really appreciate how sweet the little boy was, and the slapstick comedy scenes (eg "kaka") sent the whole family rolling on the floor.
Waaaaaay underrated movie. It takes talent to make people laugh.

People have no sense of humor, the pet shop scene was one of the most hilarious things i ever seen.

I can't believe this rating is so low! This movie is down right funny! I took my daughters and my mid 50s mother went too and we all couldn't stop laughing!!! Very funny and underrated movie!

People instinctively slam movies directed toward children and families on these boards. This is decent entertainment, regardless of your age. I gave it 6/10 stars.

This is intended for families? I saw this movie as a young girl and it gave me nightmares because the people I watched it with were laughing at the castration humor. The "comedy" was to me worse than any horror... and I felt that growing older would make me think something like that was funny, but then I have always feared horrors that lurk behind carelessness and mirth.

hey spazberryme i think you should chill out.

i watched this movie for the first time in 2002 when i was 9. i totally loved it. today i watched it for the first time after that at 17 and i still laughed at the same parts. i love this movie. people bash it because they cant take a joke. of course the producers and actors did not film it aiming for an oscar, they wanted to do a funny movie intended for children. thats it. give it a break

lmao well yeah if I saw it NOW I would just think it was really stupid but I saw it as a kid and it was reaaaally disturbing to me
