What a terrible, terrible movie.

I own every season of Tales from the Crypt; as well as demon knight and bordello of blood. I remember renting this movie when it first came out and just never watching it. So, I purchased it the other day solely to finish my collection, and what a piece of garbage. Aside from a lot of unintentional laughs, there was no redeeming factors from this film. Wow, so disappointed this will most likely be the last TFTC film. Well, it really wasn't even a TFTC film because the beginning felt tacked on. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It was tacked on, this had nothing to do with TFTC when it was filmed. The is a remake of I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE. The Crypt-Keeper footage was added for promotional reason I suppose.

I don't mind the film.

I have to agree, Lawn. This movie was just so boring and blah all the way through. The pacing was horrible and nothing seems to happen for long stretches of time. Then something slightly interesting or intense happens, followed by another fifteen minutes of monotony. Found myself doing other things through a lot of the movie. Shouldn't even have had the Tales From The Crypt logo and reference at all.

I readily admit that the only thing that really feels Crypt-like is the ending where the villain gets thier comeuppance. However, I thoroughly disagree that it's "a terrible, terrible movie." It's slowly paced, there's no gore and very few shocks, but in my opinion it's one of the few worthwhile remakes from the past 15 years. As a horror-mystery-thriller, it's decent and much better than "I Walked With a Zombie." The problem is that it bears the Crypt name, so people expect it to be a horror-comedy, which it isn't at all.

Agree that it was decent horror-mystery which I enjoyed watching (though only once). acting was good. Though also as you say it didn't have that TotC feel. Still worth watching once.

Agreed. Aside from a few good performances, it wasn’t nearly as fun and enjoyable as the other two movies. It lacked the charm of the television series and even the original 50’s EC comics that the show was based on.

It was mostly an adaption of 1943’s I Walked With a Zombie with the Tales from the Crypt name posthumously slapped on the DVD release. And then you have the tacked on and poorly done opening segment featuring a crappy looking Crypt Keeper puppet. The movie itself is just kind of dull and forgettable.

I really enjoyed Kristen Wilson’s nude scene though, she had a very cute butt! :)
