Exact release date?

There's a complete and total lack of information available at this movie. I first noticed it on imdb in 2000, with a cited release of that year. Then it got pushed back to 2001, later 2002. A few years ago, I was writing something about the "Tales from the Crypt" franchise, so I scoured the Newspaper Archive, back issues of Fangoria and similar magazines and never really found a damned thing.

Best as I was able to discern, it did get a very limited theatrical release somewhere in Europe (without the Cryptkeeper segments) in 2002, and then it gradually trickled out on DVD around the world over the next few years with absolutely no promotion or fanfare. Which is a shame because it's totally underrated, and one of the few remakes from this century that simultaneously pays homage to the original and stands on its own legs.
