Quite a different world back then

A whole portion of the movie was a long Hitler joke, there were transgender jokes, baby molesting jokes, were there racial jokes? Hell I couldn't keep track. This movie would never come out today, especially at PG-13.

Edit: I guess Rowan Atkinson played a caricature of an Italian, so I suppose that counts! Also I'm sure now there'd be a group mad because it pokes fun a narcolepsy! Wouldn't be surprised!

This was a really funny movie. It just went for broke. The Hitler jokes were hilarious (ARE YOU INSANE!? THIS IS HITLER'S CAR!)

It really did go all out. Watching it for the first time since I was what, 12? I was absolutely not expecting how ballsy it was.

"This was a really funny movie."

You need your brain checked. Where was the funny part? I mildly chuckled ONCE during this travesty, and that was when Cleese suddenly drew a gun out of his pocket and shot at the ceiling. It was so unexpected.

Nothing else in this movie was funny or good in ANY way, I can't understand how they got this cast for THIS. I don't get how this movie was greenlit. I don't understand this world at all, this really IS a mad, mad, mad, mad world when movies like this get made.. I am still in shock.

Forgot about the scene after Whoopi Goldberg's character and her daughter get off the rocket car! Can't imagine the mental handicap advocates would like that one today.

I really wouldn't be using this movie as a sterling example of how different the world was. This is an unfunny movie precisely because it relies on so many cheap jokes.
