Was it set up for them to get the gold coins?

The hotel owner made it seem as if the coins were somehow set up to come out just for them.
I doubt it though. I think they were random.
But what is unbelievable is to somehow time it for the coins to all fall at about the same time in the machines they played.
Like two could have gotten them in close proximity and then others could have been sitting in the machines for hours or even days.
