Wow, the movie was more like Police Walking Tactical Boring Unit.

"We are a tactical unit, no let's walk around and do nothing, oh wait there's a car with a broken window CALL BACKUP!"

Yeah, the movie had it's moments but I think it was still pretty boring, and it sure as hell wasn't about a tactical police unit. (or is that what Chinese call tactical?)

Meaning that "my type of movies" would be brainless action movies?

You obviously know very little about HK Police Tactical Unit (PTU). PTU is the manpower reserve of the police force. Their duties include crowd control, security and anti-crime operations. When PTU units are not mobilized, they are on patrol either on foot or in vehicles. The movie is fairly accurate in this regard.

It sounds like you think PTU should be gun blazing around. Well, you are mistaken. If this is the reason why you think this is a boring film, then PTU is just not your type of movie.

Yeah. It doesn't matter how faithful this movie was to the PTU. What matters is that it is ridiculously slow and full of encounters that lead nowhere. This is exactly what you're supposed to avoid when editing. You don't show someone casually walk twenty feet across a room, then meander back across, then saunter across once more when there's no reason for any of it. Something should have happened somewhere, and I don't just mean action. A plot point or inciting incident would have been nice. The script must have been 11 pages long because the dialogue was sparse at best. An 88 minute movie should not be so deathly dull. It's just a well shot movie that amounted to nothing, but took a looong time getting there.
