2001 Miramax DVD Contents:
- Original 170 minute network broadcast version
- Commentary with Lorna Luft, director Robert Alan Ackerman and costume designer Dona Granata
- Behind-The-Scenes Featurette
- Deleted Scene "I Play the Palace" (used as the opening for part 2 - removed as both parts are edited together on this release)
- Alternate French Audio Track
- Fullscreen Video
2012 Echo Bridge DVD Contents:
- 188 minute extended cut (presented in two 94 minute parts)
- Widescreen (non-anamorphic) Video
The extended edition includes numerous scenes not featured in the original ABC broadcast, such as:
- Judy writing poetry in her bedroom
- Roger Edens persuading Judy to meet with Vincente Minnelli about 'Meet Me in St. Louis'
- Vincente comforting a distressed Judy in her dressing room prior to shooting 'The Trolley Song'
- Vincente discussing Judy's health problems with her doctor
- Sid Luft talking with Judy's doctor about her medication possibly affecting her pregnancy
- The scene where Sid takes Judy to a clinic to detox is significantly extended
- Judy's disasterous Melbourne performance is shown, rather than simply referred to in voiceover
- Judy's fight with Mark Herron is extended
- Judy's conversation with Lorna while the two are lying in bed is slightly extended
Those are the moments I can remember off the top of my head. There may be other minor changes I don't recall.
None of the scenes listed above were included as supplements on the 2001 DVD. Sadly, both releases are OOP. The Echo Bridge release appears to have had a very limited pressing. Hopefully it'll get reissued sometime in the near future.
