Heather Graham: Great bod, no talent for dramatics

OK, I am female and can still appreciate Heather Graham's assets. But I really do think she is the worst dramatic actress ever. There were so many corny acting slip-ups in this movie that really made me dislike her acting abilities. For example, when she is visiting someone that she doesn't want to know her true identity (ie. Michelle the yell rape girl and Adelle's mom) she wears her super sneaky eye glasses, just like Clark Kent. Then when she goes to visit Adelle's mother and finds out Adam is coming over she takes this completely obvious, Benny hill-like gulp of tea and gets this stupid "Oh crap" look on her face. I have seen "Boogie Nights" and "The Guru" many times and I think she is phenominal in comedic roles, but I really must ask what the casting director was thinking when they put her in this one. Especially next to Joseph "Shakespeare won how many Oscars in Love" Fiennes. It was a mistake. Much like the mistake made by the casting director of "Saw" because Cary Elwes disappointed me in the same way. My two cents.

She does have a killer body, but I have to say she's one of the biggest sluts in hollywood.
She has been romantically linked with just about every costar she has ever acted with, and just gives off that slut vibe.
Can anyone name a bigger slut actress? Serious, I want to know.

ryanbrownsports: you say that "she's one of the biggest sluts in hollywood.

reply

Im sorry but I thing you are a stupid girl very envious, clearly heather graham is a very beautiful girl and she is very talented also you can never ever insult her because she is the hottest hollywood actress

reply

very beautiful, yes. very talented??!!! no. i agree w/ the original subject line.

I'm glad this was brought up. I watched the movie the other day and Heather cannot act her way out of a paper bag in this.

There was no emotion, no rational reason for how she acted in certain scenarios and no character development.

I think she feels that if she takes her gear off then that shows commitment to the role. Wrong. It may of worked for Halle Berry but not for Heather.

reply

Her performance in From Hell was laughable.

reply

Uhh.. It didn't work for Halle Berry either.
She's a terrible actress. And she doesn't even have the saving grace of comedy, since she's too cool for that.

reply

"Uhh.. It didn't work for Halle Berry either"

He's talking about the Oscar that she won for Monster's Ball.

That's pretty pathetic.

reply

Yup, a bit overacted in the scene but her acting in the movie was not bad.

However, in this movie, HG's acting was strange.

reply

Heather Graham naked? It worked for me! :)

Seriously, she acted fine in this considering this wasn't the best written film.

I agree with the above post. She is only as good as the material written for her. I doubt she wanted to put on the goofy glasses.

Her bod is killer. One of the all time beautiful actresses.

Heather Graham's performance was weak in this movie. She has performed well in other films, with dramatic roles (Such as Two Girls and a Guy, Boogie Nights) but her performance here was so forced and affected it nearly ruined the movie for me. I think the rest of the cast performed well..

reply

Apart from Ms Graham being nude, this film and the acting in it sucks. Big time. The plot is week, the acting, well, that part is already covered and the rest, well, it's not better...

shut the *beep* up, anyone can insult anyone

That's an insult to an honest post. You should consider apologising.

If anyone criticising HG is envious, then, by this logic, no woman must ever criticise her. Again, that would mean that as a man, I cannot criticise the rather average acting of JF in this movie, lest I be called "envious".

I couldn't agree more. She is a beauty, but I've always found her performnace in "Kiling me softly" to be very lackluster. But her role in the movie was very underwriten and mediocre, making her come across as a desperate DUMB Blonde ditz.

Everything she says seems so mentally retarded and I question whether Alice (which is Graham's character) has adult ADD. Lol. But the excuse for KMS's script, it's also the writers. But it is a "Sexy" GUILTY PLEASURE.

It's Michael Chiklis pimpin'

Looks good, but serves little to no purpose.

I agree. Clothes or no Clothes, it's makes no difference. She will still be a unequivalent actress by the outcomes. Sex-Apeal does not make an actress. It seems like that is what hollywood is all about now in days.

The original post mentions liking Heather Graham's comedic roles, one of which was Boogie Nights. Last time I checked Boogie Nights was supposed to be dramatic. She was pretty funny in that only because her acting sucked. Any time she has to show any drama she falls flat.

reply

I agree.. she has a killer body, but she really was a bad match to Joseph. Her attempts a passionate sex actually made me laugh out loud.. She was all over the place, and not in a good, wild, passionate way.

Apart from her acting, and the fact that alot of it was badly shot, I enjoyed the movie. I liked the premise, and Joseph Fiennes is the epitome of a sexy broody, mysterious and sensual man.

I would love to see it re-shot with a new director and a new female lead.

reply

she's sexy hot... that's all that matters, lol...

I think you people have a nerve calling her a skank. Of course you are either virgins, or waited til your wedding night to have sex. Yeah right.

I could name many other actresses who have had numerous partners, but are for some reason Hollywood's golden girls. The media gives them a pass on their "skankery". And we have the reliable old double standard at work as well. The guys get a pass.

Maybe you'd like to see your private life put under the microscope for a bunch of anonymous losers to dissect.

I guess it's like looking at clouds. You see one thing and I see another. Peace.

reply

she's great in this. gets the ironic tone. why people don't? who knows.

reply

I haven't finished the movie yet, I'm still watching it right now. I'm trying to like Heather's acting. Yeah, it's bad but it's sort of...endearing I guess, which has nothing to do with the nudity, by the way. It's bad and endearing the way Keanu Reeve's acting is.

Joseph's acting is also a bit funny here. He's obviously trying to be sexy and seductive and I'm not sure it works for him. He was much more moving when he was nearly in tears over Queen Elizabeth.

Okay, why do I laugh so hard during the passionate love scenes? XD I feel like a 5-year-old again who's just seen a couple kiss passionately on screen for the first time. I've seen Unfaithful (which shares a few things in common with Killing Me Softly story-wise) and it didn't have this effect on me.

....And now I know why you guys think the script is horrible. @_@ It's no Unfaithful.

I'm sorry for comparing Heather to Keanu. I don't remember Keanu's acting ever being as bad as Heather's in this movie. And I think it isn't the script's fault that she comes across as a ditz.

reply

She really is, this and Blessed were embarrassments of films
She was great in Boogie Nights tho

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.
