Made no sense

I thought it was a stupid movie that made no sense. I seemed to just travel off into nowhere. The dialogue between the mother and the blackmailer was annoying and static. And she fell in love with the blackmailer because.... she's stupid....? Why didn't she just find out if her son killed the guy? The cover-up is worse than the crime. I just watched this and I felt like it was waste of time.

I agree. If you want a movie where everyone's motives are neatly explained and discussed, there are certainly plenty out there.
Everything you comment on is in the movie, but you have to pay attention.

the problem with you is that you want a movie to stay true to reality which is not the case in the majority of films. why didnt she ask her kid if he did it, why this, why that... unless you are willing to "suspend your disbelief", 99% of american films don't make sense.

No sense makes sense.

You're right on one thing: the cover up by Margaret (the mother) was worse. But if you were paying attention to the movie, the only crime was the blackmail by Spera on behalf of his boss. And it only appeared that there was a crime with Darby's death because during his fight with Beau, Darby ripped a piece of Beau's shirt, which was in his hand the moment he was found.

I'm open! There's just nothing in there!

Yeah, it's just basically a Tilda Swinton showcase. Not all that much more.

You're of the very few that thought it a complete waste of time.

I'm a mother and I could see me doing this exact thing but in the rush and fear of covering it up you wouldn't be thinking clearly.

No she wasn't falling in love. There's became a pain they both shared by the end all the struggles, he began to feel sorry for her when the grandpa was on the floor.

If you've never shared a dangerous, emotional secret with someone you learn to care about then you won't understand this movie ever, it's like speaking another language you won't understand.
