best high school movie of all time

this has to be the best high school movie ever. it shows how all the teachers are asses and how the principal is the devil. The charcters are the best peeople in the movie how they con everybody around them.

I think its really good, the best? maybe, maybe not. I think its awesome that it doesnt have a really cheesy ending. The people arent best friends anymore which is totally a reality of high school.

They did get together in the end. Victor and Davis did their last job, and they were all smiling to eachother in the end. Still bit of a cheesy ending. But a pretty good movie nontheless.

reply

Definently the best ever.

reply

best of all time? i certainly hope you're not forgetting about The Breakfast Club or Dazed and Confused. Those are a couple high school movies that may be worthy of the "best of all time" label.

reply

Didn't think DAC was that great and I admit I haven't seen TBC.

I think Cheats is worthy enough to be labeled best high school movie of all time, it's hilarious and has reality to it, I'm sorry but The Breakfast Club is just an overrated 80's movie that has this "comeback" now where everyone seems to like it... I just didn't find it funny because none of that would ever happen, that small group of people wouldn't just magically come together then part ways at the end as if they're going to be friends again or something... I'm sorry but that's not reality... never saw Dazed and Confused, I plan on seeing it... hopefully it won't be as overrated as TBC was...

your totall right, oval-face. i think this film maybe be more enjoyed by the younger crowd. i didnt think this good at all. i sat through it though. i didnt find the characters likable at all. they treated each other like sh;t.

Generic, boring, flat, superficial, and definitely-from-hollywood are words that I can describe it...My gosh! You guys should watch more movies...coz if you think this is the best, know that there's a lot there way better than this...

reply

ummmmmm....how about no? See, this movie, unlike all of John Hughes' sappy stuff, is actually based on real events. The names are changed but the story is real. Go buy the DVD and watch the extras. The gang DID break up. They came together for the making of this film (save for Jonathan Jacob Applebee, the Crib Master who "writes crazy-small" He didnt want anything to do with the movie) I dont know what is exactly wrong with you. Maybe you never cheated...Maybe you did, but you were one of those lowly kids who cheated by faking sick and taking a make-up test (you bastards)....but I digress...This movie is much more real than most of the garbage hollywood throws out...and it is simply hillarious

This movie might have been real, but I thought it was just plain boring and the lead character was not really that likable.

I've seen a hell of a lot of good movies. I have a movie pass from Blockbuster and am attempting to just go down the IMDB Top 250 unless something else catches my eye. I've seen and loved The Shawshank Redemption, The Usual Suspects, City of God, Memento, L.A. Confidential, Crash, Million Dollar Baby, and others that I can't just name of the top of my head. I'm not saying this is better than those, but I definently think this is good and way underrated.

Also, don't stereotype me as a teenager who sees a movie that's actually great and then goes to see some *beep* like The Girl Next Door and has the same reaction. The only recent R-Rated comedies that I've enjoyed are Harold & Kumar, and The Wedding Crashers, both of which got above a 7 rating here on IMDB.

I'll admit, I have yet to see some of the high school classic movies, such as The Breakfast Club, but some others like Dazed and Confused, I did not find as entertaining as Cheats.

The best *beep* teen movie of all time is ANGuS!!!

I lived Angus. I was a fat dude, and I won Prom King...moreso because I went to a small high school and I'm supposedly "funny." Angus was great.

reply

It was one of the best movies I've seen, but not the best high school movie. It doesn't beat The Breakfast Club, but I would say it comes in a close second.

reply

I thought this was a really good movie, but not the best ever. I would have to say The Breakfast Club or 16 Candles were two of the best high school movies ever.

Ummm. Im pretty sure it was Saturday Detention, which takes place fairly frequently at my school.
Back to the topic, this movie is really funny and underrated. Best high school movie of all time? i dunno. Its up there though. Other nominations would be:
The Breakfast Club
Dazed and Confused
16 Candles
The Girl Next Door
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Mean Girls

Brick is the best high school movie hands down.

reply

If you enjoyed that movie, I take pity on you. Nothing about Brick is even remotely tangible to high school life. It's film noir in a high school backdrop. And poorly done at that.

reply

I think Brick's cute...but I wouldn't consider it for this list...I'm pretty partial to Can't Hardly Wait, but this is definitely better than that and the overrated Breakfast Club (which is still good).

But, my vote is for Superbad...and I like this movie more...but I have to admit Superbad is probably a better movie.
