If you really love someone, you will sacrifice yourself for them. You will want to protect them with your life, and you would even be willing to die for them. The thing with the food in the movie shows sacrifice. It says that you will be willing to go hungry instead of seeing someone you really love be hungry. It's about sacrifice.

shareI don't know, but after seeing this movie, I noticed that my significant other (who HASN'T seen the movie) often offers me the last bite on his plate. It was heartwarming when I realized that. :)
shareOffering the last piece as called being considerate. A lot of people, me included, do it all the time to everyone. That doesn't mean that I'm in love with every stranger or all of my friends or all the girls I date. It's called good behaviour and I learned that, like I'm sure a lot of people did, while growing up! It's certainly not a subconsious thing nor does it mean loving someone.
