What's the point?

Why is there two stories? Is there any link between them? I think it'd be better if the movie would've only consisted of the Non-fiction story.
Then a few flaws. Why was Scooby in the bathroom smoking weed when the director got there? what building was that? that's unrealistic and stupid.
Then what has being vegetarian and not being into sports have to do with being gay? I think it's stupid that his brother was actually right about that thing and it seemed like those two points actually had something to do with him being gay. dumb...

Well, it's a SATIRE.

In FICTION, the truth was written as a fictional story that was being criticized badly during the reading session.

In NON-FICTION, the filmmaker edits the documentary about Scooby in a way that it becomes a fabricated truth instead. The audiences were seen to enjoy his work. As you well know, there isn't absolute truth or justifications in documentaries - look at Michael Moore's works. Period.

I guess both stories are suppose to show different opposites - proving two points here that maybe people don't wanna hear the truth. We want to believe fabricated truths or something.
