The camera lingered over the house sign a little at the end and made me realise just how appropriate this name was. I'm still pondering all the themes of this film, but one which is emerging in my mind as a major motif is a lack of spirituality, a pervasive hollowness. Interesting then to learn that Solondz who once considered becoming a rabbi is now (2006) an atheist.
