if you liked this movie, recomend another....

I always feel like the imbd "if you liked this movie, try this..." misses the mark a little. Does anyone have any suggestions for movies that have visuals something like this, same sense of magical realism?

If you like this check out Pushing Daisies. That's a bit more sachrine than this but great stuff nonetheless.

Amelie and The Princess and the Warrior come to mind. They're both odd in a fantastic way- if you don't mind subtitles :-)

Swimming Pool, Mulholland Drive, Amelie, Pan's Labyrinth, Big Fish,
Paris Jet'aime, Run Lola Run..oh and my favorite one ever - The Science of Sleep!

All of these are very interesting movies, not your usual run of the mill plot and you'll get some of that same 'price of milk-esque' visual.

Any more recommendations???

Try Kamikaze Girls. A really adorable, surreal little movie. Lots of bright colours too.

The Science of Sleep is most splendid!

I'm a big fan of surreal and quirky as well as prosaic and elegiac, so for better or worse here goes. I second the recommendations for Amelie, The Princess And The Warrior, Big Fish, and The Science Of Sleep. In addition, may I suggest:

Lawn Dogs
Being There
Harold And Maude
What Dreams May Come
Millions
Heaven (2002)
Toys
Serendipity
Always
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
City Of Lost Children
A Very Long Engagement
Punch-Drunk Love
Joe Versus The Volcano (no really - give it a chance!)

Check out this other fairy-tale-esque movie from New Zealand: Woodenhead

It's very unique and very good.

If you liked this film I recommend you admit yourself to an insane asylum and go to the film nights. It doesn't matter what the asylum staff are showing; just so long as you are not out roaming the streets amongst sane people.
