I don't recall ever using it much.

It's a sad thing that your adventures have ended here

Does the OP want to elaborate? I mean - "Worst thing in the entire series?" Do you mean anything at all, do you mean only as far as limit breaks go? What aspect of it would even make you think it's the "worst thing in the series?"

I'm not the OP lol. Did you reply to the wrong post?

Eh, just replied to the most recent post in the thread. And it was quite obvious I was talking to the OP since i said so in my post.

I liked that they underpowered the "limit break" move. In VII, limit breaks seemed to pop up so often that the difficulty was a little too easy sometimes as a result. IX brought it to a more reasonable rate.

I liked it -- my tiny little irk about the Trance though, was that they made the characters way too strong, particularly Zidane.

Let's say I wanted to test out a few of his trance moves on a monster (just to see the animation); just one attack from him would do 9999 damage and it'd be an overkill. Then I'd have to wait a really long time to do it again. Plus, we had no control of when we'd Trance, so I'd end up pinking out on a Flan or a Hedgehog Pie, which was a waste.

I wish we could hold on to our Trance and use it when we wanted, ala FFVIII.

I found that my characters always seemed to trance in a random battle that I already had wrapped up. It was never there when I really needed it...

I didn't use them too much but it saved me during the fight vs Ozma.

it's the worst thing in ff9 but it still beats out ff8's system or the entirety of ff13s existence
