yeah i found that strange aswell, like it was just tacked on there to tell the audience what was to become of the baby with a killer father.....i agree very illogical that that conversation would take place so quick

Well, they dispensed with Travolta's girlfriend and the wife lost the inconvenient baby, so all set for a reunion. Yippee!

Totally agree! The movie couldn't end with the viewer leaving with the thought that Travolta was going to raise Rick's baby. Therefore, they had to conveniently get rid of it to make room for daddy.
