Go see Shortbus instead

A sexually explicit film that is GOOD, and FUN and JOYOUS...and well made and even thought-provoking... is Shortbus by John Cameron Mitchell.

In other words, everything that this film isn't.

On top of which, Shortbus actually has good cinematography and a lot of originality and humour...

Oh, and GAY sex, too! (Probably why a lot of people stayed away... too bad for them.)

And of course, to answer the question in everyone's mind... Shortbus actually has real sex but is NOT pornographic in any way, specifically because the sex is not there to titillate but rather to express character and make the story move forward.

In fact, the first twenty minutes is almost nothing except sex...but it is used as a way to introduce us to the different people in the film.

So rent it out... it is certainly worth spending your money on more than this film. And the chances are, if you can get past the first 20 minutes, you'll end up liking it!

Baise-moi is about despair, nihilism, the human and the beast inhabiting each of us. It's critical and very poetic.
While Shortbus is ok, I have seen it and enjoyed it but they are from two totally different approaches to life/death and love.

This film, with its provocative nature and beautiful decadent imagery is more to my taste.

She might have fooled me, but she didn't fool my mother.

As other users have already told you, 'Shortbus' has NOTHING to do with 'Baise-moi'. So why you are telling ppl to go and watch it??? Just because both movies features actual sex? pffft! Nonsense!

Comparing 'Shortbus' with 'Baise-moi' is like comparing 'The Triplets of Belleville' with 'Beowulf' just because they both are "animated" films!

Lady Vengeance, Nikita, First Blood (Rambo), Natural Born Killers, Thelma & Louise, Bonnie and Clyde, True Romance, and so on, are movies that are way closer to 'Baise-moi' than 'Shortbus'.

Shortbus is a stupid, rather ugly and amateurish little film; fake erotica for 30 something yuppies; perfect for the "Twitter" crowd, but garbage as cinema. Baise-Moi is also a trash film, and it is ugly and crude, but at least it has some BALLS... 'Shortbus??' Ugh!!!
