What is the difference between this and 'Butterfly Kiss?'

I haven't seen 'Baise-Moi' (not that I want to) but I have seen 'Butterfly Kiss' and didn't enjoy it much. From what I have read of both synopses of the films, the stories are similar, but BK is not that violent or pornographic, quite tame really.

But BK kind of depressed me. The characters were unsympathetic and it had a dark and dismal feel to it.

IMHO, this one is an extreme road movie, whereas Butterfly Kiss (one of my favourites) is a twisted love story.
Baise-moi seems to revolve around two characters bent on destruction. Whereas the other film tells the story of a schizophrenic woman who manipulates a shy, unexperienced girl. She craves affection and becomes a criminal trying to escape a boring life.

She might have fooled me, but she didn't fool my mother.
