I have a question I'm dying to be answered

Yugi meets Weevil on the boat to the tournament. Weevil, being the blatantly obvious evil character that he is, asks Yugi if he could see and hold the Exodia cards. Yugi, being a complete idiot, obliges Weevil who proceeds to throw all 5 cards overboard. Joey jumps in the water to retrieve the cards but only comes up with 2 of them. I'm sure Yugi has those 2 remaining cards but they are pretty much useless without the other 3. So he probably removed them from his deck so as not to pull one of them and be forced to use it.
