Why is nobody talking about this movie?

Come on. This is pretty good... well, it's okay... well, it's not terrible.

So, parts kind of didn't make sense, and it was a little cheesey. It was still freaking entertaining.

I hear you! I'm a unicorn lover from way back and was in heaven while watching this show! Unicorns allways find a way to beat the evil trolls!

I really don't know why nobody's talking about this movie!Personally,i think it's great, such kind of movies are always so impressive,so interesting. And the characters are good, too. The Medusa,unicorns,queen...:))))

I quite liked this movie and I loved the unique twist on the unicorn. It was a nice change from pure white. Anyone know if it will make it to DVD?

reply

This is my favorite movie, almost...and it is on DVD now :) I just bought it mainly to see what Chantal Conlin was like in the movie. I think for such a low budget movie, it was great.

I loved it but I was upset because the Mermaids didn't make it into the movie. and that puppet doesn't count! The first painting I ever bought was Christensen's "sisters of the sea". lol I mean Mermaids are awesome!!! They should have found a way to include them!

I find that low-budget films are often better than the multi-million dollar movies that you can see in theaters. There's more thought put into the script, and you can get to know the characters better when they're not clouded up by all the distracting special effects and so on.

Anyway, Voyage of the Unicorn is SO underappreciated it's not even funny. The movie has a distinct flavour that I have yet to see replicated. Plus, the music was absolutely AMAZING (especially the song 'faith preceads the miracle')...

I totally loved this movie.
Amashelle was right...It was severely underappriciated. For something that was low budget they did AMZINGLY well. And i heard some quite nasty reviews about VotU; sacrilige i say.
...At least we few are here to stand by it.

A friend of mine told me he saw it in episodes on a German TV channel and he liked it very much. I saw it yesterday cos I bought the DVD and I also liked it very much.

I completely agree with Amashelle that this movie was according to me better than most big budget movies you see in the theatres.

If this movie had been in the theatres it could certainly have had the success of the Harry Potter movies. I only saw the first of HP movies and in comparison with VotU I like VotU a 100 times more.

The creatures looked very real and cool. I also liked that some supposed to be evil characters were in fact good such as the Minotaur and Medusa. And they chose a black unicorn instead of the usual white.

Yes too bad the mermaid didn't make the screen. That weird dance from Miranda was the only minus point in the movie in my opinion but well I blame that on low budget. But with low budget they still could make a whole army of scary looking trolls.

Good acting from everyone. The 2 daughters look promising talents and I hope to see more of them in the future.

Medusa was very pretty but Titania hm she could seduce anyone any day. She looked like a combination of a spirit and vampire, I liked her the most.

I didn't understand the thing about Oberon too well. Suddenly it seems he joined the trolls and than they talk of a pact and suddenly Oberon becomes a slave too. Anyway doesn't sound like Oberon is a very trustworthy king.

My friend said that Medusa and the professor got together in the end in our world. I guess they cut that out in the DVD version as I only got to see a glimpse of Medusa when the professor celebrated becoming decane. The switch from magic world to our world was a bit too quickly in the end.

It comes on over here in less then three hours.

I loved the film when I first saw it, I love the sisters, especially when they magically get their dresses. (yummm)

Hope I don't sound like a perv!!

We never had the Odyssey Channel and I never heard of this until today. I chanced upon the title in the Comcast online TVplanner an hour into the program today, tuned into it and have been watching it since then. It's quite enjoyable. Fortunately I've been able to request a copy of it from our public library so we can see it from the start. I have to say I am surprised that I hadn't heard of it until now!
