I recently got the DVD for the first season of this and was somewhat disappointed.

Biggest Complaint.

There were no subtitles. This show mixes Spanish and English dialogue and my schoolboy Spanish isn't all that good. Besides the words that they generally say in Spanish aren't the words that your Spanish teacher teaches.

I really think subtitles in English and Spanish would have been very helpful on this title.

Second Complaint.

Each 45 minute episode was in one large chunk. There was no chaptering within episodes. It made it very hard to get back to where I was the few times I got interrupted partway through an episode.

Yes, these things are trivial in the overall scheme of thinsg and I did very much like having a crystal clear copy of this program to watch but these minor changes could have made it MUCH better.

Dear H IronOak -

Sorry to hear of your complaints, but I understand. I didn't think subtitles were necessary because the Spanish used was minimal. The problem about no chaptering is because Paramount was too cheap to do a proper job in the release. There should have been chaptering and bonus material should have been included. It was a struggle to get them to release the first season at all and they did virtually nothing to promote it, which is obviously the reason it didn't sell more. I guess they don't think the first and longest running Latino drama in the history of American television is very important. Thanks for being a fan of the show.

I remember that show... I watched it cos I loved the title.

Yah, if you do a new edition of the DVD you should chapter it and do the subs, or make subs a viewers choice.

I can understand spanish when I read it, I can figure out the gist, but spoken spanish is delivered at lightning speed, and it is harder for me to catch some of it.
