There is an official encyclopedia on the Playstation Network store you can download for free on the PS3. It'll answer all your questions about the Metal Gear universe. If you beat MGS4 every piece of information is unlock. THANK YOU HIDEO!

I wouldn't quite say "answer all your questions". It leaves out several stuff and it also makes a few errors on its part. Heck it even contradicts itself at times.
