Rating on IMDB

I don't normally over-think the ratings on IMDB since I think the ratings have lost the credibility they may have once had. As the site becomes more and more popular the numbers of votes cast for or against movies seem to depend less and less on the quality of the film and more on the agendas of overly zealous fans or haters.

However in the case of this film I really am shocked at the rating. A rating of nearly 8 seems great even though I find it hard to fault the documentary on any level and feel it deserves a 10 for production values and content.

What shocks me is that there are people who cast very low votes. I mean really, how could anyone vote 1, 2 or 3 for this film? I think you'd have to be soulless and heartless to do so.

I am very interested in world history and yet had never heard of the kindertransports until I saw this on PBS in 2000. What an important piece of film-making! Informative and heart-breaking at the same time - Into the Arms of Strangers rightly deserves a place among the important chronicles of this shocking period of human history.
